In July 2011 Metro Safety was delighted to assist with The Challenge Network Charity project.
The Challenge is a youth and community programme funded by the Cabinet Office and Department of Education. It helps young people to connect across diverse social backgrounds, build self-awareness and responsibility, and mobilise change in their community.
To these ends, teams from The Challenge work on projects which they feel will make a difference. The Challenge was a ‘Dragons Den’ pitch event where each team made a presentation to a board of ‘Dragons’ for funding to help them with their project.
Metro Safety ran consultation sessions to help the teams refine their pitch presentations, as well as donating two of their directors to be ‘Dragons’.
Previous team winners have organised events to bring older and younger generations together, addressed issues of race and prejudice and raised awareness of sexual health issues in young people.
